rving Aday O’Connor is a Cuban-born pianist, composer, music producer, and actor whose artistic journey bridges the rich traditions of Afro-Cuban music, contemporary jazz, and Broadway theater.

He is currently performing in the First National Tour of the acclaimed Broadway musical Buena Vista Social Club, portraying Young Rubén González, the legendary Cuban pianist. This exciting new chapter marks his Broadway theatrical debut as an actor and pianist, bringing his musical heritage, expressive artistry, and deep connection to Cuban culture to the stage.

Born and raised in Havana, Cuba, Irving began his classical music education at the prestigious Manuel Saumell Music School before continuing his studies at the Amadeo Roldán Conservatory and the Instituto Superior de Arte (ISA), where he further developed his musical foundation and artistic identity.

His exceptional talent earned him recognition at Cuba's renowned JoJazz competition, receiving awards in Composition in 2009 and Ensemble Performance in 2010.

Throughout his career, Irving has collaborated and performed with internationally recognized artists, including Dr. Ed Calle, Aymée Nuviola, Concha Buika, Descemer Bueno, Leslie Cartaya, Tony Succar, and many others.

His performances have taken him to prestigious stages and international festivals, including the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C., the North Sea Jazz Festival, GroundUP Music Festival, Jazz Plaza Festival, La Laguna Drum Fest in Mexico, and the 64th Annual Grammy Awards in Las Vegas, where he performed with Grammy-winning artist Aymée Nuviola.

As a recording artist and composer, Irving continues to explore the intersection of Afro-Cuban rhythms, jazz improvisation, and contemporary musical expression. His album Cuban Joy celebrates the vibrant spirit of Cuban music, combining traditional influences with a fresh and personal artistic vision. His recent single Rhythmscape further showcases his evolving approach to modern jazz and piano performance.
